We felt VERY lucky to be allowed to buy a daughter of 2 such out- standing GSDs. Melony had started as an obedience kennel, then moved into showing & judging, But we foolishly flew Kamee here too young. We did our own quarantine, and she came through it fine. But then we realised that her bite was over-shot! (So was her UK sister.) She grew out of that - then she started
limping! Our vet xrayed, and ruled out dysplasia, then found an article from L incoln College that suggested her problem was a selenium deficiency. Injections of selenium, with a follow-up course of selenium tablets, gradually reduced that problem .
Kamee was "dumped" at her first show, but took the Bitch CC at her second, then was retired for breeding. Both her litters - 5.9.1976 and 21.12.1978 - were by Ch. Goldsteins Perra (Imp in Dam), whose mother was by UK/NZ/A.Ch. Rossfort Premonition out of a daughter of UK.Ch. Cosalta Franklyn, thus giving very close line-breeding in the P and U lutters. A year or 2 later she opened the bin we kept our dry feed in, stuffed herself on it, bloated, and was euthanased. As that was 8 days after Herrscher had opened the bin, bloated, responded to the surgery, come home but died overnight, I banned dry food from then on.

Cosalta Franklyn Phal was originally sold as a long-coated pet, but 2-3 weeks later had grown into his coat, as seen above. Owned by a chap who wore a colostomy bag, he was never trained to run.

A real dog, Phal LOVED riding in the steel-mesh crate on the back of our ute - so yapped like a NZ.Huntaway the whole trip!
21.4.1975, by VG.1 Roytancarl Dirk (Imp.Aust) BS.Cl.1 ex VG.3 Lorelei Pracht The pedigree was line-bred 3 : 4,3 on Rossfort Premonition, but introduced Quanto von der Wienerau for extra strength. We'd have preferred to keep her but had no room, then Pracht's owners sold her, damnit!
